Hi, I’m Cecil Robertson.

I help business brokers get more intimate with their clients’ needs for selling and buying businesses using a stealthy “relationship-rich” system that makes it easier to get testimonials and referrals.

I’ve spent fourteen years in the hotel industry, working for a few big-name hotels, some of which you may have checked into over the years. Hotel chains like Hilton, Marriott, Radisson, and the five-star brand Four Seasons. Consequently, I’ve come in contact with thousands of guests, creating and adding to their overall experiences – WOWing guests, as the industry likes to call it.

With my background in hospitality, I can tell you: hotels (at least the smart ones) strive to create a relationship with their guests. Having had that already-established relationship, they become the guests’ obvious choice with little, if any, searching of the competition. And business brokers should be no different – at least the smart ones – when it comes to their clients. 

In fact, the Silver Tsunami will place some brokers in a  treasured position.

For this reason, I’ve formed Better Negosyo. (The name “Negosyo” – pronounced [Neh-go-sho] – is the Tagalog (Filipino) term for “Business.” Tagalog is the language of the Philippines.) And how did I come across that name? Simple, really. My wife, Melissa, is a Filipina.

OK, so now that the name is out of the way, let’s move on to why I’m so committed to helping business brokers get more clients. I started out wanting to own a business, but from past failures, I know the do-it-yourself (D.I.Y.) route is a tough alley to trek through. 

You see, after nursing my wounds in silence I realized… I had blundered into one disastrous misstep after another. With each misstep, there were all kinds of red flags. Flags I foolishly ignored, flags I thought would amount to nothing, flags I thought were just me overreacting…

Moreover, I realize just how valuable a role experience plays in business. Up until now, I have glazed over the valuable asset an experienced business broker holds – an asset I will not let go buried during, what I believe is, an unprecedented moment for SMEs and baby boomers.
